This is a wonderful guide & the fact that it is illustrated with photos of Tibetan people is a big plus.

I am very happy with the book I received, "The Illustrated Tibetan book of the Dead". It arrived in excellent condition and in a timely manner.

i got this book as a present to a freind who's very into eastren philosophies, he already read parts of the tibetian book of the dead, and i thought that having that followed with photos of tibet might ad another level of understanding to his studing.first of all this book doesn't contain all the texts from the original book, and so, it gives a good over all look to this approach to life, and a nice introdaction t the subject, but not too much information on top of that, it's lacking a lot of the major asppects of this approach.the photos are very predictable and sort of westernly matched to the texts - like a photo of a dark sky with light peeking through in a paragraph about higher power, which to me knowladge doesn't really match the concept of higher powen in the tibetian approach. the photos themself are very nice and very turistic, nothing you can't find in a postcard rack in some tibetian gift shop, if such thing exsist.my recoomentation - if you are looking to get familier with this text - get the non illustrated full book of the dead, and if you are looking to see nice photos of tibet, there are quite a lot photo albums which are better in both quality of phtography and printing, and choice of subject.it's a pretty nice intrudaction to the country and phylosophy, but i haven't find anything too exciting about this book.

A more accessible version for Westerners of the ancient Tibetan Buddhist philosophy, 'The Great Liberation Through Hearing'. The teaching takes you through each day of the bardo of death with a comprehensive commentary. For anyone with prior Buddhist understanding, the transition between life & death detailed in this book will not come as a shock. However, for those with no prior knowledge of Tibetan Buddhism it would probably be wise to start somewhere else like the 'Tibetan Book of Living & Dying' by Sogyal Rinpoche.Do not be put off by thinking that this is a book just about dying. Although it is essentially a guide for the dead, it is also a guide for the living.

The storyline flows effortlessly and everything about this book is still lingering in my mind in such a wonderful way. I was sucked into Remi and Kal’s beautiful love story and I devoured it within hours. Remi invaded my mind, heart and soul. I was intrigued by him in The Legacy and I was beyond thrilled as he turned out to be so much more in this book. Kal’s character was cleverly written, she’s admirable and exudes strength and courage. It was impossible not to feel an immediate connection with these two and their chemistry was off the charts.The Legend’s plot is emotionally charged, filled with angst and is climatic in more ways than one. I endured a whirlwind of emotions while reading this book. Remi and Kal complimented each other well as their romance was intense, passionate and intoxicating. They made my heart flutter with their flirty behavior and romantic gestures. And the magic they created between the sheets was wild and scorching!!Another compliment to this book is the shocking plot twists!! It took a few minutes for me to pick my jaw off the ground after reading them. I definitely couldn’t have predicted those secret revelations. This book is without a doubt one of my top favorite books that I’ve read so far this year.

Epic Love...they had it in spades!!! Remi’s story was a roller coaster of emotions...a ride I never wanted to end!The first time they met bonded them for life. Timing just never seemed to be on their side. They both had to live through their own hell to finally get the love that they both deserved...together!Remington Wilde was bred to lead his family. To run the family business and be legendary in their town. However, Remi had plans of his own!Kal had her own dreams but getting there was going to be a struggle. She came from meager beginnings and a struggling single mother whose solution was to find a wealthy man.Two kids who made a lasting impact on one another. They would be in and out of each other’s lives for the next twenty years. This story definitely tore me apart and broke my heart...more than once! But it also made Kal & Remi’s love and their union that much sweeter!This love story spanned decades and began to develop when they were in middle school. It started as two people who bonded because of their lackluster home life. A love that flourished when they were reunited in high school. Then torn apart by lies and deceit, their path was forever changed. But a love like their’s, always finds a way back.Book three cannot come soon enough. Rivers Wilde is one of my favorite places to visit.

Oh this book!!!! It's stunning and amazing and I can't stop thinking about it!! Days later and I still have all of the feels!! Dylan Allen has this way of taking a story and spinning and twisting it with angst, intrigue and romance. She did this so perfectly with Remi and Kal. Remi is the Wilde heir. Raised to be a legend, like his father. Kal is from the other side of the tracks living with the mistakes her mom has made. They were perfect for each other. Unfortunately his family didn't think so. So many lies and so much manipulation but oh what a HEA!! I finished this book and all I could say was wow, just wow.

The Legend by Dylan AllenIs the second book in the Rivers Wilde series. It can be read as a stand-alone. But to really enjoy the story and have a better love for the characters. I recommend you read Legacy first.Holy wow this was a beautiful story. Oh my god Remi. From the first start I fell for him and was rooting for him from the beginning. Kal you want her to get back to her Remi. Yes there is going to moments you want to smack one of the characters. Mostly the mothers of both the main characters. I loved Hayes in the first book but Remi capture my heart took his place. In order to know more you have to take the chance and read the series and devour the story. The Legend is rightfully name because you need to get to know Remington Wilde the Legend.

This book is a page turner!Dylan Allen did an amazing job building this fast moving, complicated tale that spans decades filled with twist, turns and manipulation.It will grab you from page one and hold you hostage until the last. Author Mark Finnan displays his talent at research and love of history, both of which make this book an excellent reference for anyone interested in the mystery of Oak Island. Finnan is a fine writer, and adds a nice human-interest angle in which he details some of the lives of those who have sought the treasure. The first few chapters provide a detailed history in the early colonization of Nova Scotia and the area surrounding Oak Island. However, most of the book provides well written detail of step by step efforts at recovering the treasure, engineering accomplishments, and both geological and archaeological findings on the island, all while telling the story of those who have sacrificed everything to find it in the last 200 years. The book includes some photos, sketches, and excerpts from early accounts and records of the search. The only criticism I have is Finnan's frequent references to the Freemason's involvement throughout the book, culminating in the last few chapters which are devoted to Finnan's own ludicrous theory of what is at the bottom of the treasure Pit. Other than that, it's an excellent guide to anyone wanting the scoop on Oak Island.

Oak Island Secrets is a well written book by an author who was practically "sucked" in by the mystic and lure of the world's most elusive treasure. Finnan takes you thru the history of the island, failed attempts of many prospectors, & offers many explanations of what is buried there and by who. This is a very interesting and mysterious story for anyone who has a sense of adventure for buried treasure & unexplained mysteries. It comes highly recommended.

Had this book for my RC class. Very useful, Jack really shows well thought out steps for example problems. I'm a very visual person and so the way the problems were laid out and solved really helped me pass the class. And he goes straight to the point when it comes to the conceptual stuff.

Okay book. Loaded with examples which is great and the author sometimes talks about real life practice for design. There are typos in this edition though so be careful. Consult the website on the publishers site for errata. I would prefer the book by macgregor and wight. Except it does not have many examples. It is a good reference book and talks much more about the theory which is vital.

Author Jack Mccormac has written books on concrete, steel, and structural analysis. His best book is this one on reinforced concrete. It is a basic introductiuon for a first course in concrete design. It is loaded with clear examples, illustrations, and text that explains where he is going. You can't ask for a better book to teach yourself reinforced concrete design. Its a great review book for the PE exam. I highly recommend this book. The format should be copied by others for masonry, timber and steel design books - not too cumbersome but complete.

Design of Reinforced Concrete (Eighth Edition) by Jack C. McCormac and Russell H. Brown is an excellent book. I am a registered mechanical engineer and am trying to expand my understanding of reinforced concrete. What I really like about this book is how the authors use basic principles of mechanics of solids in the design of reinforced concrete. Rather than just trying to apply a set of derived equations tables and charts that I am not familiar with, I can use my understanding of basic mechanics of solids to figure out such things as the compressive stress and strain in the concrete, the stress and strain in the tensile steel reinforcement, the stress and strain in the compressive steel reinforcement,etc. while applying the current ACI 318-08 Code.

This is an okay book. It has a lot of examples which I like but as far as actually learning concrete behavior (really important) I would recommend the book by wight and macgregor.

...but it wasn't the book's fault. Personally, this course was the most difficult undergraduate course I took to get my Civil Engineering degree. I don't know if that was due to the professor, myself, the material, or a combination of all three. However, the book provides plenty of real world examples. I have not used it yet in the 'real world' to test its validity but that is because I work on the construction end rather than the design end.If this is required for your course, get it.If you need it to practice for the EIT or PE exams, I would recommend it.If you want this for a reference book, I think it would be a good addition.If you do not have any interest in designing reinforced concrete structures, don't get it.If you are an architect without an engineering background, this is not a good place to start. Here is the order I would recommend. Structural Analysis Geotech + Foundations Concrete + Steel
