After watching Victoria on Netflix, I wanted to know more about the African Princess. This was a very good read, a good part of missing history. I appreciate the series introducing this story and I was happy to find there was a book written about her.
Thought this book was no longer available. It's the true story of Queen Victoria's African godchild. There are pictures of her growing up in Windsor Palace and taking carriage rides with all the royal family. She was about to be cooked in pot for a very special ceremony when a missionary saved her. This story is a beautiful testimony to providence.
Incredible true life story of an African child princess rescued from ritual sacrifice becomes the adopted daughter of Queen Victoria. Heartbreaking journey of this remarkable child during the English Victorian era to hervuntimely death. Bittersweet tale of courage and hope.
I'm using this as the literature book for my 6th grade daughter as she studies Victorian England. I really love including this bit of history that I never learned. It's beautifully written and has been a great start to our school year.

Anyone can have great confidence in Amazon.When I received this book, I sat down right away and began to read because it really caught my attention. I read it within that same day. The story of that little princess was very very interesting and that little girl was a wonderful person as she grew into an adult. I am sure there are many like her and wish there were more benefactors to help them.
This is a children's book but so informative and engaging adults will like it as well.
